Self-erecting confectionery box 85×120×95 mm: custom cardboard packaging in Chisinau

The self-erecting box in the 85×120×95 mm format is compact cardboard packaging for confectionery: small cakes, pastries and desserts. The construction is cut from a single piece — the body, base and hinged lid are die-cut from one blank measuring 279×475 mm. The box is delivered to the customer flat and pops into shape in a few seconds: folded flat, it takes up minimal space in storage and transport, and it is assembled right before the product is packed. The lid closes with a tuck flap, and a semicircular thumb notch makes the box easy to open.

The material is GC1 cellulose board with a density of 252 g/m² and a polyethylene coating. The white coated face ensures clean, accurate offset printing, while the PE barrier makes the board moisture- and grease-resistant: cream and glaze leave no stains on the packaging, and the box keeps its shape and neat appearance. Barrier-coated board is a proven solution for cake and pastry packaging, where the product is in direct contact with the inner surface of the box.

The artwork is offset printed in two colours (2+0): the design is built on a soft light-blue background with a decorative pattern and contrasting dark-navy elements. For a two-colour brand identity, 2+0 printing is a rational choice that delivers consistent colour across the entire run without unnecessary cost. The print is sealed with a matte water-based coating — a protective layer that fixes the ink, guards the surface against scuffing and gives the box a restrained matte finish. Even an affordable finish like this noticeably elevates the impression the packaging makes: the product reads as premium, and that difference in perception works for the brand with every sale.

After printing and coating, the sheets are die-cut using a cutting die, and the boxes are glued on an automatic folder-gluer line — the process is fully automated, guaranteeing identical quality for every box in the run.
